Another bad wreck on the Harare-Bulawayo road, this time a bus flipping over. One person died and ten got hurt when a Zhongtong bus crashed near the 21-kilometer marker, with the Zimbabwe Republic Police saying the driver lost control trying to pass another vehicle. The bus, carrying twelve people total, swerved off the road and rolled onto its side.
The sole fatality was a passenger who died right there at the scene. Emergency services responded to the crash site. All the injured people were taken for medical treatment. The police statement noted the bus had been heading toward Harare when the overtaking maneuver went wrong, leading to the vehicle ending up on its side off the roadway.
