Busted Pangolin Peddlers Caught Red Handed

Pangolin Skin Seized in Namibia, Two Men Arrested.

The police caught two men with pangolin skin on Tuesday in Okongo, a town in Namibia's Ohangwena region.

Melanie Mbuuru works for the police there. She said they found the men at a shopping center around 11:15 a.m. The skin was worth about $50,000.

The men are 26 and 51 years old. The police think they had the skin illegally. People need a permit to have protected animal products like pangolin skin.

The men will appear in court in Eenhana later this week. They could be in big trouble for possessing the skin without a permit.

The police are still investigating what happened and want to learn more about where the skin came from.
