Authorities detained a homestay cleaner after discovering an infant's remains buried behind a residence in Cameron Highlands. The 19-year-old suspect allegedly concealed the birth and death of his stepsister's newborn child. Police Superintendent Azri Ramli confirmed that the man's father made the grim discovery near their water tank at 10am yesterday. The father noticed freshly disturbed earth and uncovered a white cloth bundle containing the deceased baby.
The suspect admitted to burying the two-day-old infant born to his 21-year-old stepsister. Officers apprehended him at his Kampung Melayu Desa Kayangan home at 5:30pm and confiscated gardening equipment used in the burial.
