Rough morning in Harare after a car took a dive into the Mukuvisi. Two people died early Wednesday when a Toyota Hilux flew off Highglen Road near the Trabanlas Interchange, smacked a billboard, and ended up in the river. The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed that the driver and one passenger died on impact. The vehicle had been carrying four people total.
The two other passengers got hurt in the crash. Police reported the wreck happened before sunrise. Emergency crews pulled the bodies from the scene and took them to the Sally Mugabe Hospital mortuary for autopsies. An investigation is presumably underway, though the police statement just gave the basic facts of the incident.
