Many gospel stars sang at the first Resurrection Rhapsody concert at Glamis Arena in Harare despite rain affecting outdoor events. Nigerian singer Judikay led the show with UK-based Zimbabwean performer Eleana Makombe, The Cherayis, Everton Mlalazi, Takesure Zamar, Janet Manyowa, Robyn, and Joyful Praise Choir also taking part. The Easter celebration marked the start of Tikiti, a new online ticket platform.
Robyn and Sharon Manyonganise-Cherayi opened as early fans arrived. Eleana Makombe grabbed attention with an interactive set, where people sang along to songs like Kana Jehovah avhura masuwo. Takesure Zamar performed his worship song Ndinokuregerera, which touched many hearts. Everton Mlalazi kept energy high with hits such as Hakuna Wakaita saJesu and his new track Gwayana, which excited fans.
Janet Manyowa performed well despite the cold weather before Judikay came on stage, bringing huge excitement to the arena. Though fewer people came than expected, those there fully joined in worship. Organizer Tatenda Gaylord Rushwaya said about 90 percent of attendees used the new Tikiti system, which helps people buy tickets ahead of time. The event showed how future concerts might succeed with the Tikiti brand.
