CCC Senator Praises Leaders After Swiss Hospital Stay

Senator Sengezo Tshabangu from the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) went back to work at the Senate. He had good things to say about Zimbabwe's leaders after they helped him during his recent stay in a hospital in Switzerland.

The senator became very sick in October. This happened when he went to Geneva for a big meeting of world parliaments. He was there to speak for Zimbabwe at the 149th Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly.

The senator told everyone about the great help he got when he was sick. He said Vice President Chiwenga called him at the hospital. The Vice President promised to make sure he could come back home safely. The next day, President Mnangagwa also called to give him support. These calls meant a lot to Senator Tshabangu.

He stayed in the hospital for two weeks. The first week was in intensive care. Many people from Parliament came to see him during this time. The Speaker and other members stopped by to give him comfort, even though they were busy with the big meeting.

Senator Tshabangu leads an unclear role in the CCC party. But he said this did not matter when he got sick. He felt the care he got showed that being Zimbabwean matters more than which party someone belongs to.

He thanked everyone who gave money and support to help him get better. The senator said he feels proud to be Zimbabwean. He stands grateful today because of the help from the President, Vice President, and Parliament members.
