Celtic sign Japanese forward Shin Yamada on four-year deal from Kawasaki Frontale

Celtic completed the acquisition of Japanese striker Shin Yamada from Kawasaki Frontale through a four-year contract arrangement. The 25-year-old attacker recently earned his maiden international selection for Japan after recording 32 goals across 121 matches with his former club. Yamada becomes the fourth Japanese player on Celtic's roster alongside Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda, and Hyato Inamura. Manager Brendan Rodgers praised the forward's goal-scoring ability and creative potential for the Scottish side. Kawasaki Frontale previously developed Hatate before his successful transition to Celtic.

The new signing expressed enthusiasm about joining the Glasgow club and competing at Celtic Park. Yamada acknowledged the achievements of his Japanese teammates while emphasizing his determination to establish his individual identity. Rodgers highlighted the player's physical attributes and intensity as valuable additions to Celtic's attacking options. The transfer represents Celtic's continued investment in Japanese talent from the J League. Yamada aims to contribute immediately to the team's European ambitions this season.
