Centenary Bank unveils Rotary Club of Mapeera in Kampala to boost ethical leadership

A new corporate Rotary chapter emerged at Centenary Bank with the establishment of the Rotary Club of Mapeera. The institution created this professional service organization to blend ethical leadership with community outreach programs. District Governor Geoffrey Kitakule and Managing Director Fabian Kasi attended the inaugural ceremony along with other Rotary members. The initiative represents a strategic move to align corporate values with community service principles. Governor Kitakule emphasized how workplace-based Rotary chapters strengthen institutional integrity through the Four-Way Test framework.

The bank employs more than 3,400 people, creating opportunities for expanded Rotary participation across multiple chapters. Kasi confirmed the organization will support club activities as part of broader social responsibility efforts. The new chapter operates within Rotary District 9213, which covers Uganda and Tanzania territories. Service projects will target education, healthcare, environmental protection, and financial education programs. This development reflects Rotary International's strategy to diversify membership by engaging professionals within their work environments rather than traditional community-based recruitment methods.
