CEO Batu walks free on RM6k bail after assault charge on teen

A popular social media star walked into court and denied touching a teenage girl inappropriately. Muhamad Iqbal Muhamad goes by the online name CEO Batu and has thousands of followers watching his every move. The 22-year-old influencer faced serious charges at Ampang Sessions Court for what prosecutors say happened last month. Police accused him of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl at a home in Sunway Batu Caves. The alleged attack took place in the early morning hours when most people were fast asleep.

Judge Norshila Kamarudin heard the case and set bail at RM6000 for the young internet celebrity. Court officials made sure he understood the strict conditions that come with his temporary freedom. He cannot contact the victim or try to influence her testimony while the case moves through the legal system. Police also demanded he check in with them once every month until judges decide his fate. The influencer must find someone willing to guarantee his bail money before walking out of jail.

Lawyers from both sides prepared for a long legal battle that could destroy the social media star's career. The Sexual Offences Against Children Act carries harsh punishments including up to 10 years behind bars. Prosecutors could also demand he pay a massive RM20000 fine if judges find him guilty of the charges. The court scheduled another hearing for August 14 when both legal teams will present more evidence. Deputy Public Prosecutor Nadiah Malek Fauzie will try to prove the case while defense lawyer Mohd Anif Rafih fights to clear his client's name.
