Channing Tatum mourns James Ransone, calls him one of the realest

Channing Tatum honored the late actor James Ransone, who died at forty-six. Tatum posted a tribute on his Instagram Story, calling Ransone one of the realest people he knew. The two had worked together on the 2011 crime film The Son of No One, directed by Dito Montiel. Tatum wrote he had no words for the loss, recalling he always looked forward to Ransone's conversations. He signed off with a message of love, using Ransone's nickname, PJ. Others like Chloe Sevigny and Spike Lee also shared remembrances.

Reports state Ransone was found deceased in Los Angeles, with the medical examiner listing the cause as suicide by hanging. He leaves behind his wife, Jamie McPhee, and their child.

Tatum himself has multiple projects upcoming. A significant one is Roofman, a comedy-drama where he portrays real-life robber Jeffrey Manchester. Directed by Derek Cianfrance, it premiered at the Toronto film festival and will get a wide release next year, already receiving positive critical reviews. He is also filming the thriller Josephine with co-star Gemma Chan, scheduled for festivals before a 2026 release. Tatum will reprise his role as Gambit in the Marvel movie Avengers Doomsday, a major blockbuster set for late 2026. Another project is the crime drama Kockroach, featuring Oscar Isaac and Zazie Beetz.
