Charity fills the void as Gengenkpe crumbles

CHALICE-Nandom has provided 60 dual desks and core textbooks to Gengenkpe Junior High School after a violent rainstorm in April 2025 destroyed the roof and damaged learning materials. Director Charles Domekyilleh said the organization aims to break the cycle of poverty by investing in education for deprived communities. The gesture supports government efforts to maintain safe learning environments for students.

Municipal Chief Executive Anthony Ziniel praised the intervention and confirmed the Assembly had already repaired the school roof. Human Resource Manager Paul Kpaatigh urged teachers and students to maximize the use of the donated materials through dedication and hard work. The presentation took place on Tuesday, with community leaders in attendance.

Head Teacher Ambrose Deberu thanked CHALICE but requested additional staff postings. The school operates with only three teachers, creating a strain on instruction. Chiefs from Bezum, Tankyara and Gengenkpe attended the event with parents and educators.
