An 80-year-old widow caring for two orphaned granddaughters in a Manikganj slum has received emergency relief from Bashundhara Shuvosangho after the family went five days without food. Olifa Begum has struggled alone since losing her husband, son Zakir to cancer, and daughter-in-law, leaving her responsible for raising Zakia and Khadiza despite having no income or permanent shelter.
District President Md Hasan Shikdar visited the Beutha slum residence and discovered the desperate situation. The organization delivered rice, chicken, vegetables, cooking oil and other staples. Olifa told volunteers she depends entirely on neighborly charity while determined to see both girls complete their education at Dishari School and college.
General Secretary Mir Naimur Islam Plabon and several officials joined the relief distribution. Shikdar confirmed the group has supported this household previously and pledged continued assistance for vulnerable residents throughout the district.
