Allen Chastanet from the United Workers Party took the L after his party got absolutely demolished in Saint Lucia's general election, and he congratulated Prime Minister Philip Pierre while the Labour Party scooped up 14 out of 17 seats in the House of Assembly. The UWP only held onto Micoud South, where Chastanet runs, and they lost their other seat in Choiseul to a Labour candidate. Two independent candidates managed to keep their spots in Castries North and Castries Central.
Chastanet told his supporters the results sucked, but he respects what voters decided, and he thanked everyone who put in work during the campaign. He said the party is not giving up on its mission even though they got wrecked, and he called for everyone to come together while the UWP figures out how to bounce back from this mess.
