Chelsea Snub Felix and Sterling as Club World Cup Nears

Chelsea dropped João Félix and Raheem Sterling from their FIFA Club World Cup squad. Manager Enzo Maresca excluded both players from the tournament team traveling to America. The club searches for transfer solutions to move the Portuguese and English stars elsewhere. New signing Dário Essugo takes over Félix's number 14 jersey at Stamford Bridge. Both players face uncertain futures after being left behind for the major competition.

Manchester City completed four major signings before the Club World Cup starts. The team acquired Rayan Cherki from Lyon and Rayan Aït-Nouri from Wolverhampton Wanderers. City also signed goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli from Chelsea and midfielder Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan. Pep Guardiola felt disappointed after losing the FA Cup final to Crystal Palace last season. The Spanish manager wants immediate trophy success with his strengthened squad during the upcoming tournament.
