Chevrons torch Kenya, Botswana hammers Malawi in Harare

Zimbabwe crushed Kenya by nine wickets during their warm-up match at Harare Sports Club yesterday. Kenya collapsed to 96 runs after winning the toss and choosing to bat first. Bradley Evans captured three wickets for 12 runs while Richard Ngarava took two for 16. The Chevrons reached their target within 12 overs, losing only Tadiwanashe Marumani for 14 runs. Brian Bennett led Zimbabwe's chase with 33 runs before retiring.

Botswana defeated Malawi by 55 runs at Takashinga Cricket Club in the second warm-up fixture. Reginald Nehonde scored an unbeaten 62 runs to help Botswana post 150 for four wickets. Malawi managed just 95 runs in response as Tharindu Perera claimed three wickets for seven runs. Eight nations will compete in the Africa Qualifiers starting Friday for two available spots. The winners will join South Africa at the 2026 T20 World Cup in India.
