China Donates Dengue Prevention Materials to Bangladesh, Pledges Continued Support

China rushed medical supplies to Bangladesh as the country battles a deadly dengue outbreak. The Chinese government sent 789 boxes of rapid test kits worth five million taka to help doctors diagnose patients faster. Chinese diplomat Dr Liu Yuyin handed over the massive donation at a health ministry ceremony on Thursday. The test kits contain more than 19,700 units that will help save lives across Bangladesh. Health officials praised China for acting quickly when Bangladesh asked for emergency help.

Bangladesh struggles with dengue fever because millions of people live close together near rivers and ponds. Mosquitoes breed easily in standing water and spread the dangerous disease to families. Chinese officials said they respect how Bangladesh fights back with mosquito control programs and public education campaigns. The donation proves that China stands ready to help its neighbor during health emergencies. Medical workers on the front lines received special recognition for their brave efforts against dengue.

Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus visited Beijing earlier this year and strengthened ties between both nations. China became the first country to send an emergency medical team to Dhaka last September after political violence injured many people. The Chinese doctors worked alongside local medics to treat victims and share treatment methods. China has already given Bangladesh flood relief supplies, medical equipment, and mobile hospital vehicles worth over three million dollars. The partnership shows how countries can work together when people need help most.
