Chipinge court jails trio for stealing, selling Isuzu for $200

A dirt-cheap US$200 flip of a stolen Isuzu just landed three young men in real prison time.

Six-year sentences in Chipinge
  • The Chipinge Magistrates’ Court locked up three men for vehicle theft.
  • Frank Tinotenda Bheri, Robert Pfaera, and Munashe Chikonde were convicted.
  • Each received a six-year term from the court.
  • Portions of those sentences were suspended for all three.
How the Isuzu was taken
  • An Isuzu KB 280 double cab vanished in December 2025.
  • Bheri guided Pfaera and Chikonde to the Chipinge house.
  • While the owner worked in Harare, they grabbed the vehicle.
  • Later, the trio tried to offload it as scrap.
US$200 scrap sale scheme
  • Bheri set up the sale through a local company.
  • During the deal, they claimed they represented their family.
  • Chikonde stepped in as the required witness.
  • Shockingly, the vehicle went for just US$200.
Discovery and arrest
  • A colleague checking the property noticed the car was gone.
  • That visit triggered a report to the police.
  • Officers tracked down the suspects after the complaint.
  • Arrests followed, leading to their convictions.
