Chivayo Claps Back at 100M ZEC Scam

Wicknell Chivayo rejected claims about his involvement in a million-dollar ZEC tender scandal. Social media reports alleged he earned R800 million from a deal between RenForm and ZEC for election materials. Chivayo called these allegations baseless on Facebook. He stated that receiving government contracts remains a legal business practice regardless of the amount involved.

The businessman denied any relationship with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission. He mentioned ZEC already confirmed they never had contracts with him at any point. Chivayo said people should learn about government tenders before making corruption accusations. He believes political enemies target him because of his ties to the ruling party.

Documents supposedly from the South Africa Financial Intelligence Centre claimed ZEC signed a R1.1 billion contract with RenForm. The reports alleged that after payment from the Finance Ministry, RenForm transferred R800 million to accounts linked to Chivayo. He described these as legitimate commercial transactions with legal contracts. Chivayo blamed exiled individuals working with opposition figures for creating false stories about him.
