Chiwenga says he's not behind the protests

Zimbabwe Vice President Constantino Chiwenga says he has nothing to do with protests planned for March 31st. He told reporters at a Harare press conference on Monday that regular citizens created this movement because they felt upset, not because of any political schemes. The Vice President made clear that the public voice drives these demonstrations against bad economic conditions and government problems across the country. Many people learned about these protests through social media, where the movement keeps growing every day.

Chiwenga strongly denied any part in organizing these events, saying that everyday Zimbabweans started them because they felt frustrated. Many who disagree with the government see his statement as proof that ruling party ZANU-PF might have serious cracks forming. Some experts think Chiwenga wants to stay away from protest leaders on purpose or to protect his position among top officials. Others believe he tries to shape what people think before everyone becomes more unhappy.

The government has put security teams on special alert as the protest date comes closer. Officials warned they will not allow what they call unlawful demonstrations anywhere in Zimbabwe. They promised they would keep everyone safe during this time when many ask for big changes to how things work.

No one knows for sure if these protests will happen exactly as planned or how the government might react when people take to the streets. The country stays nervous as March 31st approaches, with both sides preparing for whatever happens next. Many wonder if these demonstrations will force any real improvements or just create more tension between leaders and citizens who want better lives.
