Choirmaster Reveals Jacket Was His Solo Song Before Praye Came Together

Eugene Kwadwo Boadu Baah creates music under the name Choirmaster. He belongs to the popular Ghanaian group Praye. The artist recently shared details about their famous song Jacket. He composed the track before Praye existed as a musical group. Baah kept the song stored away for future use.

Praye formed later and Baah presented Jacket to his new bandmates. The group decided to record and release the track together. Baah wrote all the lyrics and melody for the song. He chose to split all earnings equally among the three members. The other musicians added their unique styles to make Jacket more appealing.

Praye consists of three talented performers from Ghana. Steven Fiawoo performs under the stage name Praye Tietia. Nana Kwame goes by Praye Tenten during shows. Eugene Baah uses Choirmaster as his performance identity. Their combined abilities helped transform Jacket into a beloved anthem.

The group gained fame through the NESCAFÉ African Revelations pop contest. They won both Ghana and West Africa categories during the competition. Praye became famous across the country after their victory. Fans love their funny lyrics and Afro-pop musical style. The group mixes rhythm and blues with rap and highlife sounds.

Praye has recorded many successful songs since their breakthrough. Medo Wo became another hit for the musical trio. They also released Courage Brother and Kooko Ase Krakye. Other popular tracks include Odo and Somebody Dey Carry My Wife. These songs helped establish Praye as major influences within Ghana's music scene.
