Church's US$300k saves Nyabane Clinic project

Bulilima District residents will gain improved healthcare access when Nyabane Clinic opens next month. The facility addresses lengthy travel distances that previously forced community members to seek medical services far from home. Multiple stakeholders contributed resources to complete this modern healthcare center through coordinated efforts.

The Church of Jesus of Latter-Day Saints provided $300,000 for final construction phases after initial community fundraising established the foundation. Diaspora members contributed 100 rand monthly while local residents supplied free labor for various construction tasks. The completed complex features medical facilities, staff housing, and a maternal waiting shelter equipped with solar power systems.

Nyabane Clinic will reduce patient loads at the overwhelmed Sikhathini Clinic that currently serves the broader region. Committee leader Mqondisi Realfire Mlilo credits community unity for the project success that raised over one million rand total. The facility awaits final Ministry of Health inspection before beginning operations.
