Five people got hurt after a homemade explosive went off during a fight between political groups in Shariatpur. The National Citizen Party was doing a protest march for their guys, Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, who was killed, and Motaleb Shikder, who was shot. Things blew up, literally, when an argument started over a motorcycle ridden by a member of the BNP's student wing, Chhatra Dal.
Both sides are pointing fingers at the other for starting the violence that led to the cocktail explosion. Local police showed up after getting the call and managed to shut the whole thing down. The march had been moving through the Chowrangi area when everything went sideways.
