Colorful's Shadow II RAM hits a meaningless 9600 MT/s on AM5

Colorful achieved remarkable performance with its Shadow II DDR5 memory modules on AMD's AM5 platform. The company demonstrated 9600 MT/s speeds at CL30 latency using a dual-channel configuration with Ryzen processors. Testing involved the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and Ryzen 9 9950X3D paired with the ROG Crosshair X870E APEX motherboard. The setup utilized 2x 16GB 6400 MT/s memory kits that reached these extreme frequencies through careful optimization.

Stability testing confirmed reliable operation at 9200 MT/s with CL32 timings using RunMemtest Pro verification. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D configuration achieved 7200 MT/s at tight CL24 timings while maintaining 1:1 ratio operation. Colorful attributes these results to SK Hynix memory chips and an advanced 10-layer PCB design that reduces signal interference. The demonstrations show AMD's platform competitiveness with Intel systems for high-speed memory support. These achievements highlight improved memory controller capabilities in current Ryzen processors.
