Cops Keep It Cool for September Elections

Central West Region Police Commissioner Barbra Mchenga Tsiga says police officers across Malawi face a major challenge during the upcoming September elections. She tells officers they need strong discipline when handling election matters. During a recent awareness march in Lilongwe, she emphasized that officers must stay neutral throughout the voting process.

The pre-election time will test everyone, including law enforcement personnel. Tsiga urged her teams to uphold laws fairly as they maintained public order. She said officers need to remember their important job of keeping elections peaceful. Tsiga became one of the youngest female commissioners after her recent promotion, giving her words extra importance among the force.

The Police Mobile Service C-Division organized the awareness march through Lilongwe streets. Their goal was to connect with citizens about election concerns. Tsiga made her message crystal clear: Police must protect the rights of all Malawians equally. Their professional conduct will help ensure fair elections throughout the country.
