CorpsAfrica/Ghana has deployed 67 volunteers across rural communities in three regions. The workers completed six weeks of intensive preparation before beginning year-long assignments. Community residents will collaborate with volunteers to address local challenges through development projects. The nonprofit organization established operations in Ghana during 2022.
The program recruited six international participants from Malawi, Morocco, Senegal, Rwanda and Ethiopia. These exchange workers join Ghanaian volunteers in supporting villages throughout the Northern, Central and Volta regions. All participants received training in facilitation and leadership skills. The volunteers will live within their assigned communities while working.
Local officials welcome the program as a chance to tackle long-standing problems. Volunteers will help communities identify resources and design sustainable solutions. The initiative focuses on education, health, agriculture and economic development sectors. Past participants have facilitated projects ranging from water systems to youth programs.
