People in Section 6 of Cowdray Park finally got their power back after a brutal month-long blackout. The whole mess started when a lightning strike fried a transformer, leaving over a hundred houses in the dark. Local councilor Ntando Ndlovu said he had been pushing Zesa Holdings to fix it, especially with the timing right before the holidays.
Even with the relief, some residents are pretty bitter about how it all went down. One person, Nokuthula Ndlovu, pointed out that they had to chip in their own cash to buy parts for the repairs on top of dealing with the outage itself. Another local, Albert Moyo, just seemed glad the ordeal was finally over after all those weeks. Getting the lights back on at least lets them get back to some kind of normal routine.
