CRQL CRUMPETS brings cepstral formant shifting

CRQL CRUMPETS separates formant and harmonic material through cepstral processing, with shifting and gating packed into a £13 plug-in. Its name rearranges CEPSTRUM, the audio domain used here to split those two signal components.

Users can set the cepstral cutoff by hand, while Mid/Side controls allow separate formant moves with optional linking. A dedicated gate acts only on harmonic material, giving the effect a more targeted role.

For tighter control, Auto mode can follow a monophonic fundamental, while MIDI input can steer the cutoff directly. CRUMPETS runs as VST3, CLAP, and AU on Linux, Windows, and macOS, with pricing around $17.
