Crystal Dynamics cuts nearly 30 staff

Crystal Dynamics has laid off just under 30 employees as part of a company-wide restructuring. The studio announced the workforce reduction, its second this year, in a post on its LinkedIn page. It described the move as a difficult but necessary step to streamline operations.

The company stated that the layoffs were intended to optimize development for its next major Tomb Raider project and to better position the studio for creating future games. It expressed gratitude to the affected employees for their contributions and pledged to provide support during their transition. This decision reflects ongoing changes within the video game industry, the studio noted.
