Cyberpunk 2077 on Apple Silicon Mac demands M3 Max for ray tracing at 60FPS

CD PROJEKT RED releases Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition for Apple Silicon Macs on July 17. The developer disables ray tracing by default across all compatible systems to preserve performance levels. Hardware-accelerated ray tracing functions exclusively on M3 processors and newer generations. Users require M1 chips with 16GB unified memory as minimum specifications. The M3 Pro delivers 30 frames per second at 1080p resolution when developers activate medium ray tracing presets with MetalFX DRS technology.

Apple's M3 Max achieves 60 frames per second under identical settings configurations. Players can manually enable MetalFX upscaling and Frame Interpolation through Metal 4 API to enhance performance metrics. The game supports distribution through Mac App Store, Steam, GOG.com, and Epic Games Store platforms. CD PROJEKT RED emphasizes that users need expensive hardware configurations to experience optimal visual settings. The studio plans performance evaluations across various Apple Silicon devices following the official launch.
