Cyprus Leader Caught Pushing Iran's Message to Israel

Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides said Iran asked his country to send messages to Israel. He agreed to help during the growing fight between the two nations. People across Cyprus could see missile attacks between Iran and Israel during the night. Christodoulides plans to call Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday. The leaders were supposed to meet Saturday night but canceled because of the attacks.

The Cyprus president will also talk to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. President Donald Trump said America wants to start peace talks between Israel and Iran. He warned Iran not to attack the United States or American citizens. Trump said such attacks would cause serious damage. Iran and Israel began fighting each other late last week after months of rising tensions.
