Dambudzo Mnangagwa pushes for term extension, ZANU-PF unity at stake

President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa told ZANU-PF politburo members to start executing the party conference decisions, which apparently means pushing through the 2030 agenda that keeps him in power two extra years past his constitutional end date in 2028. Party insiders think the whole thing is designed to block Vice President Constantino Chiwenga from taking over, and businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei might also be eyeing the top spot.

Mnangagwa wants department heads to make sure everything gets done with actual timelines and deadlines, and he reminded everyone to stick to party rules while staying disciplined. He also complained about social media causing beef within the party ranks and said officials need to keep their behavior clean to protect ZANU-PF's reputation.
