Dangote refinery pumps 50M litres, debunks supply fears

The Dangote Refinery says everything is fine and the drama is fake. They pushed back hard on rumors about production issues, stating their massive Lagos facility runs without interruption despite routine maintenance on some units. Management confirmed the refinery can still pump out up to fifty million liters of petrol daily, with current stockpiles covering more than twenty days of national needs. They pointed to specific data, noting they moved forty-eight million liters from their gantry on a single day earlier this month. The statement explained that work on certain sections, like the crude distillation unit does not stop overall output because of the plant's integrated design, with other key units fully operational, making fuel and jet fuel.

They emphasized a consistent domestic supply, with daily loading figures verifiable by the national petroleum authority. The company reaffirmed its set price of six hundred ninety-nine naira per liter at their gantry, urging marketers to buy local to lower consumer costs and save foreign exchange. They directly accused fuel importers of spreading false reports to justify recent pump price hikes, calling that against the national interest. The refinery argued that without its operations, petrol prices could skyrocket to around fourteen hundred naira per liter in the current subsidy-free market, positioning itself as a crucial stabilizing force. They pledged to continue supporting Nigeria's energy security and economic growth with steady supplies of locally refined products.
