Days Gone Remastered just showed off a new trailer for Horde Assault mode before its April 25 release. This survival arcade mode tests players as they fight growing hordes of enemies like Breakers, Reachers, and Raging Bears. Players begin with only a sidearm but can reach Deacon's Drifter Bike to help them move around the map. Finding supply crates becomes essential for survival since they contain random weapons from a pool of over 20, including a new flamethrower not available in the main story.
Players can earn extra XP through side quests and refill supplies as they play. Anyone who lasts 30 minutes faces the Ultimate Horde - an endless wave of enemies hunting them down. As players level up Deacon, they unlock rewards, including new playable characters, patch designs, and special Injectors. These Injectors come in positive and negative varieties, with 24 total to discover. Positive ones boost your score but make gameplay harder; negative ones help you survive but lower your score.
The game offers 35 reward levels with items like character skins and six never-before-playable characters from the game world - O'Brian, Lisa, Skizzo, and others. PlayStation 5 players will enjoy better graphics, DualSense controller features, accessibility options, and enhanced Photo Mode. PS4 and PC players can buy the Broken Road DLC for $10 to access Horde Assault plus Permadeath, and Speedrun modes. Sadly, plans for a sequel were rejected, and Bend Studio recently had its next project canceled.
