Entertainer D’banj has launched a national initiative called Nigerian Youth Positively Driven, or NYPD, encouraging citizens to spotlight commendable actions and community impact. The program, introduced at a United Nations event in Abuja, features a portal where participants can upload examples of positive deeds.
The initiative offers weekly financial grants, awarding one million naira to featured individuals and two hundred and fifty thousand naira to the persons who submit their stories. Selected entries will receive further promotion and development through a partnership with the Creative Alliance for Peace.
D’banj described the movement as an effort to shift focus toward the constructive stories shaping the nation's future. He emphasized the creative industry's potential, stating that content is a major national export, yet youth lack sufficient support platforms. He expressed his belief that forming strong alliances is vital for unlocking Africa's vast creative potential.
