Deepika Padukone Makes History with Hollywood Walk of Fame Star

Deepika Padukone just made history as the first Indian actor to earn a Hollywood Walk of Fame star. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce picked her for their prestigious Class of 2026 honors. Entertainment industry bigwigs chose Padukone alongside major stars like Emily Blunt and Timothee Chalamet. The announcement came through the organization's official social media channels on Wednesday night. This marks a massive milestone for Indian cinema on the global stage.

The famous sidewalk attraction features over 2,700 brass stars along Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street. Tourists from around the world visit these embedded stars that celebrate achievements in movies, television, music, radio and live performances. Each star recognizes artists who shaped popular culture through their work. The Walk of Fame serves as a major tourist destination in Los Angeles. Entertainment professionals across multiple categories receive this coveted recognition.

Other Indian talents have earned Walk of Fame stars before Padukone's selection. Conductor Zubin Mehta received his star back in 2011 as the 2,434th honoree. Kirk Douglas spoke at Mehta's ceremony to celebrate his achievements. Indian-American actor Sabu Dastagir also earned a star for his 1940s film work. These previous honorees paved the way for Padukone's historic recognition.

Padukone continues working on multiple film projects as she prepares for this honor. She's currently filming an untitled movie directed by Atlee with co-star Allu Arjun. The exact date for her Walk of Fame ceremony remains unannounced. Her star will join thousands of others celebrating entertainment excellence. This achievement caps off her successful career spanning Indian and international cinema.
