Delhi CM Rekha Gupta celebrates birthday in native village, recalls political struggles and family support

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta returned to her birthplace village, Nandgarh, in Jind district on Saturday for her birthday celebration. This marked her first homecoming since taking the chief ministerial position. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini joined the festivities alongside family members and local residents. A large crowd gathered to honor Gupta and celebrate her political achievements. The emotional visit highlighted her journey from village roots to state leadership.

Gupta addressed the gathering about the early obstacles she encountered during her political career. Her mother initially opposed her participation in college elections and worried about marriage prospects. Despite maternal concerns, her father and uncle provided consistent encouragement for her public service aspirations. She contested eight elections throughout her career before reaching the top position. The chief minister credited community support and family backing for her eventual success.

The Delhi leader praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for creating opportunities for women from modest backgrounds. She emphasized that the BJP rejects dynastic politics and empowers candidates without political connections.
