Delhi PWD Minister promises complete overhaul of city's water infrastructure within a year

Delhi Water Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh visited residential areas on Saturday and pledged complete water infrastructure overhaul within twelve months. The minister blamed aging pipelines spanning four to eight decades for contaminating drinking water supplies across the capital. Singh criticized former administrators for failing to install new water lines during their tenure. He stated that clean water access remained a low priority under past leadership. The current government has approved funding and begun construction projects throughout the city.

Singh emphasized that his administration differs from previous regimes through immediate action rather than empty promises. Departments received orders to maintain transparency while ensuring quality standards during pipeline replacement work. The five-month-old government has developed a comprehensive master plan for citywide improvements. Local residents expressed hope that meaningful changes would finally reach their neighborhoods after years of receiving discolored and foul-smelling tap water.
