DEN committee gives new life to Nkhata Bay schools

The Nkhata-Bay District is revitalizing its Education Network Committee. Votie Mboweni, the Director of Education, Youth, and Sports, believes the revival will transform the district's educational approach. During a meeting at the District Council Lodge, Mboweni highlighted the importance of bringing key players together to improve education.

The meeting gathered government officials, civil society groups, and development partners. Its aim was to restructure the committee and boost collaboration across the education sector. Michael Mwanachawa, the Civil Society Organization Chairperson, shared a strategic presentation for the committee's review.

The committee plans to create a detailed strategic plan focusing on specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals. Their key objectives include upgrading school infrastructure, boosting literacy rates, and developing sustainable education programs. These efforts will align with both district development goals and national education policies.

Mboweni emphasized that the District Education Network had been inactive for far too long. The revival represents a fresh start for educational coordination and resource management. Stakeholders are excited about the potential improvements and the opportunity to work together more effectively.
