Dennis Miracles Aboagye slams Mahama's silence as Ablekuma North violence erupts

Dennis Miracles Aboagye criticized President John Dramani Mahama for failing to address violence during the Ablekuma North parliamentary election rerun. The former Vice President Bawumia aide expressed disappointment over six days of presidential silence following widespread civilian assaults. Aboagye emphasized that journalists suffered beatings alongside ordinary citizens during the chaotic electoral process. The NPP communicator highlighted that simple social media statements could demonstrate presidential concern for affected communities. He questioned Mahama's apparent indifference to documented attacks on residents and media personnel.

The disputed rerun across 19 polling stations resulted in NDC candidate Ewurabena Aubynn defeating NPP's Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie by 209 votes. Aubynn secured 34,090 votes while Afriyie received 33,881 votes in the contentious race. The electoral violence featured attacks on NPP stalwart Hawa Koomson and multiple journalists during the voting process. Interior Minister Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak promised that violent perpetrators would face legal consequences. The NDC victory terminated the NPP's 28-year control over the parliamentary seat.
