Deputy Speaker Hon. Seedy S.K. Njie Emphasizes Role of Vocational Skills in National Development

The National Assembly Deputy Speaker spoke to graduates at Bansang Upper and Senior Secondary School on Saturday. Hon. Seedy S.K. Njie told students that technical and vocational training matters more than university degrees for Gambia's growth. He praised the graduates for their dedication during the ceremony themed around education's role in national development. The speaker credited student commitment and family support for their academic achievements. Teachers and community members also helped these young people succeed.

Gambia has made major progress expanding educational opportunities for all children during recent decades. The government continues building Technical and Vocational Education and Training centers across the nation. These facilities teach practical skills that students can use to find jobs immediately after graduation. Agriculture, carpentry, electronics, hospitality, construction and digital technology programs give students marketable abilities. The centers create innovation and help citizens become more self-reliant.

Hon. Njie urged graduates to show courage and integrity as they begin their careers. Modern success depends on skills and values rather than just academic certificates. Students should pursue excellence and avoid settling for average performance. Their accomplishments should help other people and strengthen the country. The deputy speaker thanked parents, teachers and the Bansang community for developing future leaders.
