Narcotics detectives busted a motorcycle rider carrying a major heroin shipment. Anti-Narcotics Unit officers arrested forty-two-year-old Ephantus Kariuki Mwangi in Nakuru. The suspect was riding a registered motorcycle while carrying suspicious luggage during an intelligence-led operation.

A search of his bags revealed three hundred ninety-seven grams of heroin. The drugs were neatly concealed for transport and valued at over one million shillings. Officers also recovered syringes, needles, rolls of cannabis, and multiple packets of cigarettes.

Investigators believe Kariuki was actively supplying drugs within the Nakuru area. He remains in police custody while detectives finalize their investigation for the court. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations emphasized its commitment to dismantling trafficking networks.

This arrest follows another recent operation targeting a suspected trafficker in Diani. Officers arrested Hellen Saru Mwajombo and recovered cannabis stuffed in gunny bags. The suspect led detectives to her residence, where more narcotics were seized.

Authorities also impounded a white Nissan Note believed used in drug trade activities. The DCI reiterated its zero-tolerance policy through relentless multi-agency operations. Its stated goal is to ensure a safer and drug-free country for all citizens.
