Dharmendra is gone forever, fans reel in disbelief

Bollywood legend Dharmendra has died at age 89 after battling health complications that recently required hospitalization. The iconic performer had been discharged from Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai earlier this month following intensive medical care, with physicians indicating stabilization before his condition ultimately deteriorated.

Throughout a remarkable six-decade career, the actor appeared in over 300 productions and earned recognition as one of Indian cinema's most celebrated and commercially triumphant stars. His filmography spans landmark pictures from the 1960s through recent character roles in contemporary releases, with his final appearance coming in the 2024 romantic comedy starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. The performer received the Padma Bhushan honor in 2012 for his contributions to the entertainment industry.

The actor would have celebrated his 90th birthday next month. He leaves behind an unfinished project, a war drama centered on decorated military officer Arun Khetarpal, scheduled for December release with director Sriram Raghavan.
