A new horror-comedy web series from Kerala will debut next week on the streaming service ZEE5, with Malayalam actor Dileep presenting its trailer on Tuesday. The show, titled Inspection Bungalow, stars Shabareesh Varma and represents what producers describe as the first paranormal comedy series from the South Indian state. Set to launch on November 14, the project comes from director Saiju S S and centers on supernatural events at a police station.
The narrative follows Sub-Inspector Vishnu, portrayed by Varma, as he relocates his station to a supposedly haunted government building in the village of Aravangad. His routine assignment transforms into an investigation of mysterious deaths and ghostly encounters spanning decades. Vishnu teams up with paranormal expert Mythili to unravel dark secrets behind the phenomena. The cast also features Aadhiya Prasad, Shaju Sreedhar and Senthil Krishna, with production by Veena Nair and writing by Suneesh Varanaad.
Varma called his character a regular person trapped between fear and unexpected humor, while the director emphasized that the series aims to blend tension with comedy naturally rather than following conventional formulas. Lloyd C Xavier from ZEE5 described the project as an atmospheric thriller about confronting deep-seated fears.
