Scottland FC and the Scott Foundation gave out food hampers in Kariba to families hit by the ferry tragedy, acting on behalf of President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Everything went down at Nyamhunga Primary School, and club manager Peter Ndlovu was there repping the team.
The club posted about it on X a day later. Per that post, the whole thing doubled as a chance to honor the people who died.
Marian Chombo, Mashonaland West Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, headlined the event as the top guest.
Chiefs, other traditional leaders, political reps, officials, and people from various government agencies all turned up for it.
Kind of a gap, though. The post never said how many families walked away with hampers, and it left out what all that food was worth.
