Diljit Dosanjh drops Emmy flex, says insaniyat wins over fame

Singer Diljit Dosanjh received recognition from the International Emmy Awards for his performance in the Netflix biographical drama Amar Singh Chamkila. The performer shared his appreciation through social media while highlighting humanity as the most important quality above all accomplishments. He posted footage announcing his upcoming Hong Kong performance scheduled for September 28 at the AXA X WONDERLAND AURA TOUR. The video featured interactions with fans and his experience tasting durian fruit at the 2025 festival.

Director Imtiaz Ali guided Dosanjh through the role portraying legendary Punjabi folk singer Amar Singh Chamkila. The biographical film explored themes of village life, substance abuse, and social issues through the controversial musician's story. Dosanjh competes against David Mitchell from Ludwig, Oriol Pla from Yo adicto, and Diego Vasquez from One Hundred Years of Solitude. The 53rd International Emmy Awards ceremony will announce winners November 24 in New York City.
