Dodgers tear Harrison Bader's groin, ruin Philly hopes

Philadelphia Phillies manager Rob Thomson offered positive news about Harrison Bader's status for Game 2 of the National League Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Medical examinations revealed no significant groin tear or strain after Bader left Game 1 with what was initially reported as a hamstring injury, but later reclassified as a groin issue. Thomson indicated Bader remains a candidate to play in the second game, pending his response to treatment scheduled for Monday.

The Phillies acquired Bader at midseason, and he contributed significantly to the team's improved performance in the second half of the regular season. The club will determine whether he can start or appear later in the contest based on how he progresses through recovery protocols. Philadelphia lost the series opener at home, and Bader's potential return could provide offensive reinforcement as the team attempts to even the series against Los Angeles.
