DPP Says the Age Law Is Not Fair

The DPP party feels angry about a new rule the MCP party wants to make. This rule would stop people over 75 years old from running for president. The DPP thinks this rule targets Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and wants to keep him out of next year's big vote.

People say the MCP gave away lots of money to make others support this new rule. They spent K300 million on people's taxes. Mr Peter Mukhito from the DPP said this breaks many rules about being fair in politics.

The DPP believes everyone should have the same chance to become president. They think this new rule goes against what Malawi promised other countries about treating people fairly. Mr Mukhito said the MCP just wants to stop Professor Mutharika from running for president in September 2025.

The DPP worries because they heard some people received money to vote for this new rule. They think this makes the voting unfair. They want other countries and groups to watch what happens in Malawi. They hope these groups will help keep the voting fair for everyone.

Mr Mukhito asked important groups to help protect Malawi's fair rules. He wants them to talk with the leaders and make sure they remember what they promised other countries. The DPP hopes these groups will help stop this unfair rule from becoming real.
