NPP Communications Director Richard Ahiagbah claims President Mahama wants to remove Chief Justice Torkornoo for hidden reasons. He believes the President aims to replace her with someone who will help dismiss Electoral Commission leaders Jean Mensa and Bossman Asare. Ahiagbah shared these thoughts during a TV show last Saturday. He mentioned that petitions against EC officials reached the President before those targeting the Chief Justice.
The NPP spokesperson explained that these earlier petitions remain unaddressed because they must first go to the Chief Justice, who decides if there is a case worth investigating. He stated he saw petitions dated January 17 still sitting on the President's desk. Ahiagbah questioned why these documents have not moved forward through proper channels.
