Drama at Allianz Ends with Ronaldo Penalty Heroics

Portugal won the UEFA Nations League title after beating Spain on penalties at Munich Allianz Arena on Sunday night. The match finished 2-2 after regular time and extra time before going to a shootout. Spain scored first through Martin Zubimendi during the 21st minute from a scramble near the goal. Portugal answered back five minutes later when Nuno Mendes found the net with a skillful shot. Mikel Oyarzabal put Spain ahead again just before halftime with a low strike inside the penalty area.

Cristiano Ronaldo saved Portugal with an equalizer after Nuno Mendes cross deflected off Lo Normand and reached the veteran striker. Both teams played 30 minutes of extra time without any goals despite Portugal controlling most of the action. The penalty shootout decided the championship with Portugal winning 5-3 from the spot. Portuguese players celebrated their second Nations League trophy after defeating their neighbors. Spain missed crucial penalties that cost them the chance to lift the trophy on Sunday evening.
