Namibia's home affairs ministry sent another group of asylum seekers back to the Democratic Republic of Congo. Sixteen people were repatriated over the weekend through the main international airport. This follows a similar move last month involving twenty-six individuals, bringing the total to forty-two.
The operation was led by refugee commissioner Josephine Kampolo. A ministry statement emphasized their commitment to safe and voluntary returns done with proper dignity. They work with partners on these efforts, which are part of broader asylum process management.
